Colorado Traffic Incident Management
Enhancing Safety. Reducing Congestion. Saving Lives.
Traffic Incident Management (TIM)
Welcome to the Colorado Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Program, a statewide initiative dedicated to improving the safety and efficiency of Colorado's roadways by equipping first responders, transportation agencies, and towing professionals with the tools and training needed to manage traffic incidents effectively.
Every minute a roadway incident remains unresolved increases the risk of secondary crashes and puts responders and the traveling public at risk. We aim to reduce incident clearance times, enhance responder safety, and minimize traffic delays, ensuring Colorado's roads remain as safe and efficient as possible.
What We Do
Provide TIM Training - Offering specialized training for law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, towing and recovery operators, and transportation personnel to enhance coordinated response efforts.
Promote Interagency Collaboration - Bringing together key stakeholders to improve incident response strategies across disciplines.
Develop TIM Teams - Supporting local and regional TIM teams to implement best practices and strengthen community response capabilities.
Enhance Public Awareness - Educating motorists on Move Over laws, safe driving behaviors near incident scenes, and the importance of reducing distractions in work zones.
